AGRAWAL et al: REDUCTION OF ARTIFACTS IN 12-CHANNEL ECG SIGNALS USING FASTICA ALGORITHM
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction A number of attempts have been made to reduce artifacts and noise from ECG signals and various types of analog and digital filters, both linear and non-linear, have been implemented to reduce interferences from ECG signals. Several adaptive filtering techniques have also been implemented. Other methods include averaging and neural networks. However, many of these methods are only partially successful and tend to suppress ECG components along with noise.

Artifact Removal from Biosignal using Fixed Point ICA Algorithm for Pre-processing in Biometric Recognition
In the modern world of automation, biological signals, especially Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Electrocardiogram (ECG), are gaining wide attention as a source of biometric information. Earlier studies have shown that EEG and ECG show versatility with individuals and every individual has distinct EEG and ECG spectrum. EEG (which can be recorded from the scalp due to the effect of millions of n...
متن کاملReduction of CPR artifacts in the ventricular fibrillation ECG by coherent line removal
BACKGROUND Interruption of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) impairs the perfusion of the fibrillating heart, worsening the chance for successful defibrillation. Therefore ECG-analysis during ongoing chest compression could provide a considerable progress in comparison with standard analysis techniques working only during "hands-off" intervals. METHODS For the reduction of CPR-related artif...
متن کاملFastICA peel-off for ECG interference removal from surface EMG
BACKGROUND Multi-channel recording of surface electromyographyic (EMG) signals is very likely to be contaminated by electrocardiographic (ECG) interference, specifically when the surface electrode is placed on muscles close to the heart. METHODS A novel fast independent component analysis (FastICA) based peel-off method is presented to remove ECG interference contaminating multi-channel surfa...
متن کاملAdaptive-Filtering-Based Algorithm for Impulsive Noise Cancellation from ECG Signal
Suppression of noise and artifacts is a necessary step in biomedical data processing. Adaptive filtering is known as useful method to overcome this problem. Among various contaminants, there are some situations such as electrical activities of muscles contribute to impulsive noise. This paper deals with modeling real-life muscle noise with α-stable probability distribution and adaptive filterin...

In this paper the need for employing a data reduction algorithm in using digital graphic systems to display biomedical signals is firstly addressed and then, some such algorithms are compared from different points of view (such as complexity, real time feasibility, etc.). Subsequently, it is concluded that Turning Point algorithm can be a suitable one for real time implementation on a microproc...
